Without a doubt Energy Storage continues to be setting itself up as playing an essential role in our future energy landscape, helping to create a more reliable, more efficient grid. Alevo continues to position itself as an important player in Energy Storage, bringing to market the first commercial non-flammable lithium-ion energy storage system. During this first quarter of 2017, Alevo has hit some significant milestones including the deliver of the first GridBank and an agreement to provide 250 KW to Duke Energy’s Mount Holly Microgrid Research Center.  Below are some of the highlights so far in 2017.

FIRST GRIDBANK DELIVERED TO SNOOK SUBSTATION IN MARYLAND

On Thursday, January 19th Alevo reached a giant milestone when it delivered its first GridBank to the Snook Substation in Hagerstown, Maryland. The 2MW/1MWh GridBank unit is the first of 12 MWs that Alevo will be installing in Hagerstown.  This unit will be utilized primarily for frequency regulation and charging/discharging cycles in durations of less than an hour. See more photos from the installation

ALEVO HOSTS LEGISLATIVE LEADERS AT CONCORD FACILITY

Alevo officials met with key legislative leaders and toured the 2.5 million sq. ft. Concord manufacturing facility on Thursday, February 23rd. They toured Alevo manufacturing facility to learn more about the technology and how storage is transforming the future of energy around the world.

ALEVO TO EXPAND MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS IN CONCORD

Alevo’s plans to add additional production lines and equipment at its battery manufacturing facility in Concord will create just over 200 jobs and invest $251.5 million into the local economy.

Both the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners and Concord City Council supported the expansion and approved two 5-year, performance-based tax incentives totaling $4,291,596 for the City of Concord and $6,258,577 for Cabarrus County. The project also includes a Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG) for $2.6 million that was approved by the state’s Economic Investment Committee.

ALEVO APPOINTS VLADISLAV BAUMGERTNER AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

BaumgertnerAlevo™, the Energy Storage Provider, has announced the appointment of Vladislav Baumgertner as its new Chief Executive Officer. Baumgertner has more than 20 years of experience leading the global market positioning and capitalization of large-scale, commercial operations in multiple industries. Alevo Director Per Dybwad, who has held the CEO position on an interim basis while the recruitment of Baumgertner took place, will now revert to his seat on the Board.
